Rio de Janeiro weather in January

I was on holiday in Rio de Janeiro in January of this year. I chose this month because I wanted to see the famous carnival that takes place at the end of January - beginning of February. The weather in January was mostly hot and humid. The temperature during the day reached 30-35 degrees, and at night dropped to 25-28 degrees. The air was very humid, sometimes more than 80%. There were also rainy days, especially in the second half of the month, when there were heavy downpours and thunderstorms. But the rains were usually short-lived and did not interfere with enjoying the holiday.
