We vacationed in Portugal, Madeira, from 06/10/2023 to 06/23/2023. During the holiday, the average daytime air temperature was about +23 degrees. By evening the temperature dropped to +19 degrees, but this did not affect the quality of rest. We didn't experience any rain. The weather allowed us to explore the main directions of our trip: the garden of the Monte Palace, hiking in the mountains, the botanical gardens of Madeira, tasting the aromas of laurel and eucalyptus trees. The water temperature was about +21 degrees, which of course did not please, but was not entirely upsetting either, because... The main goal of our holiday was to get to know the country as much as possible and feel its uniqueness.
In April, it turns out that the weather in Madeira is pleasantly warm, 18C - 21C. When the sun disappeared behind the horizon, it quickly got colder to 15C. In the evening, of course, you need to warm yourself up more. We took walks to the sea just to relax and take beautiful photos. And some especially brave individuals made swims, although, naturally, the water was cold. And I almost forgot, the rains didn’t bother me, I frowned several times, but just like that, two drops fell.
Just yesterday my husband and I arrived from Portugal. Faro, a gorgeous city because of its climate! Temperatures there are forecast to average 20 degrees Celsius. But as soon as we got off the plane, we were already burned. The sun is very warm there. There are almost no winds, it rained only once a week. The main feature of this city is that because of its region. At a temperature of +20, it feels like 35. I personally love it when it’s so warm. Very suitable climate for me.
A few years ago, my friend and I went to Porto in May, and the weather there was still quite cool, and last year my husband and I went to Madeira. In Madeira in May it is not yet the season for going to the beach, but it was much warmer than on the previous trip to Porto. My husband tried to swim in the sea, but it was a little cool, but for exploring the beautiful island nature, the period of the year was suitable, it was warm during the day, sunny all days and without precipitation.
I love traveling to European cities. In May, the opportunity arose to visit the city of Porto. Of course, I didn’t even think about swimming in the sea, because the water temperature is not suitable for this. But for visiting sights and excursions, May is a suitable month. It's already quite warm. During the day the temperature remained around twenty degrees. But at the same time, it’s not hot, which can also be a plus for excursions. True, one day out of two weeks there was not much rain, which quickly ended and did not really interfere with the walk around the city.
Madeira is an amazing place; people don’t come here for a beach holiday, at least not for me. For those who like to walk in the mountains, admire stunning nature, and be inspired by waterfalls. The weather in March, as it should be in spring, is +18-22 degrees. Not all days of rest were sunny, gloomy ones were also present, but this did not stop us from enjoying hiking. By night it was cold down to +14 degrees. The observation decks are amazing, especially Cabo Girao - it’s something!
The hottest weather in September in Madeira is the middle of the month. The average temperature on the island drops slowly throughout the month, falling from 23.5°C at the beginning to 22.5°C towards the end of the month. The average sea temperature is 24°C, making this time of year the best for swimming. Most tourists agree that this temperature is ideal for swimming, which is why you can see a lot of people on the beaches at this time of year. Praia de Machico is one of the most popular beaches on the island. The water here is clear blue, ideal for swimming. The beach has a variety of services and facilities including sun loungers, umbrellas and children's pools, water sports and parking. There are also many bars and restaurants nearby. One of the attractions in Madeira is the Jardim Botanical Garden. This garden features over 2,500 exotic plants and flowers and is so large that visitors can even take a cable car to see it all. The garden is open daily from 9:00 to 18:00.
Last year I was given a fall vacation at the beginning of September and for my vacation I chose the island of Madeira in Portugal. Besides the fact that the island is very beautiful, it has an excellent climate. The temperature did not drop below +25 and did not rise above +30. At night it was only 3-4 degrees cooler than during the day, so it was possible to walk until Poznan. Sometimes it was cloudy, but there was no precipitation. In general, I liked everything.
