I was in Belek in February 2024 and I can say that this is not the best time to visit this resort. The weather was quite cool and changeable, sometimes sunny, sometimes cloudy, sometimes rainy. The air temperature ranged from 10 to 18 degrees, and the water temperature was only 17 degrees. It was cold to swim in the sea, and there were few people on the beach. Most hotels operated during the winter season, so many services and entertainment were unavailable or limited. On the other hand, February was a good month for excursions and sightseeing. I visited the ancient city of Mira, the Church of St. Nicholas and the sunken island of Kekova. It was very interesting and educational. I also enjoyed the Turkish bath and the pirate yacht. It was fun and relaxing. I got to know the local culture and cuisine, which I really enjoyed.
The decision to go was spontaneous: several days off plus the March holidays and it turned out to be a week of vacation. The agency suggested Turkey, Kusadasi, because... we were looking for something without the heat. This is not the time for a beach holiday. The sea is cold, only 15°. We were going for a change of scenery, for a reboot. From this point of view, we were lucky with the weather. During the day the temperature was comfortable - 15-19°. We walked a lot and visited Bird Island. In the evening it became cooler, about 10°. Leather jackets were clearly not out of place. The rain caught us only on the last day, and it didn’t last long. We were pleased with the trip - we got what we came for.
I vacationed with my friend and my son in Turkey, in the city of Cappadocia, which is attractive to diverse tourists, in the month of March. We chose this city because... We consider it quite attractive due to its historicity; it is quite an ancient city with an interesting landscape. We visited it in March, since the season is just beginning and as they say “less people, more oxygen”, what I mean is that there are not so many people yet, there is more choice of accommodation and everything else. Yes, of course the weather is not hot like in the summer , but you won’t faint from the heat either. The temperature remained 11 degrees during the day, 2 at night, and it rained only once. Great time to go on excursions, especially the hot air balloon ride, that was our main goal. I think, in addition to March, you can also return to this city in September to visit the remaining excursions that you didn’t have time to do.
I recently returned from a holiday to Side, Turkey in January and I have to say it was an amazing experience. I chose this time of year because I wanted to enjoy some peace and quiet without the crowds of tourists, and also because of the lower prices for travel packages. The weather in January was changeable, but generally warm. The mornings were usually cool and cloudy, but the afternoons became warmer and sunnier. In the evening the temperature dropped a little, but it was still warm enough to enjoy walking around the city. What I liked about the weather was that it was sunny enough to sunbathe and swim in the sea. Although the water was a little cool, it was still pleasant for swimming. I didn’t like that sometimes there were strong winds, which made staying on the beach less comfortable. This weather is ideal for a beach holiday and leisurely walks around the city. However, it is worth noting that in January it can be quite cool for excursions to the mountains and visits to natural attractions. If I were vacationing in the resort of Side at another time of the year, I would choose the period from May to September, when the weather is most favorable for active recreation and sightseeing. Overall, my holiday in January was wonderful and I would happily return here again if I could find a better time to holiday.
In February we went to Cappadocia, choosing not the most popular season. The first two weeks were rather gloomy, there were practically no sunny days, and sometimes there was torrential rain and thunderstorms. In such weather, of course, balloon flights were impossible. But we did not lose spirit and enjoyed walks through the rock towns and valleys, which were accessible even on rainy days. In the summer, visiting Cappadocia is, of course, more pleasant, but in February we also found something to do. Light rain and cloudiness did not prevent us from enjoying our long-awaited vacation.
Last year, my parents gave my husband and I a trip to Turkey, to the city of Alanya, for our wedding anniversary. We already went in the summer, but in the winter we had to go there for the first time. We stayed there for a week. The weather in February was mostly sunny, from +14 to +20, which makes this city an ideal place for a winter holiday. The most important thing is that there was no wind, which means it felt like a few more degrees were added. The warmest clothing option for walking: jeans, beauties, sweater. If you are looking for a place where it is hotter in summer and warmer in winter, your choice is Alanya.
It is pleasant to relax at any time, even in winter, although for Turkey this is not the season. Those who are already tired of the beaches can safely go to Side. This is a completely normal period to delve deeper into the excursion program. The climate in December is quite mild, daytime temperatures are around +20. We were lucky, there was only one rainy day, we spent it wonderfully in the indoor seawater pool. And if during the day it’s comfortable in the sun, then in the evenings it’s cold +10-13.
We visited Kusadasi from June 22 to 28, at the height of the tourist season. The summer heat reached +29-33 degrees; during the entire holiday there was not a single cloud in the sky, which is expected during this period. We were saved by beach umbrellas and the pool or the sea, whichever you like best. The water warmed up to an average of +24 degrees, swimming was a pleasure. By evening the heat dropped to +24-26 degrees, you could comfortably sit on the terrace and admire the city at night.
Of course, it’s too early to go to Turkey for a beach holiday in March; the water is invigorating, to put it mildly. But we chose the season more for walking tours of the city of Side and surrounding areas. For these purposes, spring is a godsend and there are few tourists. The temperature fluctuated between 19-23 degrees plus. At sunset, you can enjoy the gorgeous scenery and breathe the salty air next to the sea in a cozy cafe, the air temperature is about 14 degrees Celsius.
I vacationed last year, in February 2023. I think this is the best time to vacation. I have always dreamed of visiting Turkey. I was also pleased with the low prices. The weather was just right. Not too cold and not too hot. This weather is perfect for excursions. Winter time, in my opinion, is the most optimal for such trips. Therefore, if I decide to come here again next time, it will be somewhere in winter or early spring. Overall, I really enjoyed the trip, the location and weather turned out to be gorgeous. I advise everyone to visit. It is really very beautiful and warm here.
